Permanent Tack Adhesive (PSA), known in the industry as Pressure Sensitive Adhesive, is a specialized adhesive based on an aqueous acrylic dispersion. Upon the evaporation of water, it forms a transparent film that maintains permanent tackiness.

• Printing and Packaging:
– Production of cardboard containers with complex polymer coatings.

Advantages of Water-Soluble PSA

1. Heat Resistance: After drying, the acrylic film withstands high temperatures excellently. It tolerates heat better than hot-melt adhesives.
2. Economical Consumption: The water-based adhesive can be applied in a very thin layer (20-30g/m²).
3. Transparency: Acrylic dispersions form a highly transparent adhesive film that does not yellow over time. It is ideal for labels on glass or transparent containers.
4. UV Resistance and Durability: Acrylic does not degrade or lose tackiness under sunlight, unlike rubber, which dries out. This is critical for outdoor advertising and window films.
5. Eco-friendliness: Odorless and free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during operation.

Application and Usage Features of Water-Soluble Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA)

This adhesive is suitable for both automated application (using nozzles, roller, and disc machines) and manual application methods.

Drying Water-Based PSA:
1. For the production of self-adhesive materials, the adhesive requires a drying tunnel or time for water evaporation.
This is the primary difference between water-based PSA and other adhesive types, as tackiness appears only after the complete evaporation of water.
2. In printing or packaging production, at least one of the surfaces to be bonded must be moisture-absorbent. For example, when laminating with films or foil, the second surface must be paper or cardboard.
